Friends
of the Children serves children who face a high risk of school failure,
gang and drug involvement, teenage pregnancy, and criminal behavior.
Many of these children have experienced poverty, homelessness, neglect,
abuse, foster care, drug and alcohol abuse, parental incarceration, and domestic
violence.
About
Our Children
The Friends
of the Children program model is designed to address the specific
needs of these extremely high-risk children whose instability renders
them outside the bounds of other mentoring programs.
Today, we serve
almost 600 children in 9 communities across the United States.
